Ethernet PC interfaces are actually CAN/CAN FD to Ethernet gateways that are then connected to a PC at some distance. The PC drivers from Ixxat and Peak support these gateways as PC interfaces. All software tools and APIs available for PC interfaces also work in combination with these gateways. In fact, they are CAN-to-RJ45 interfaces.
If you cannot or do not want to use a PC driver, for example in combination with servers, CAN communication can be carried out via sockets.
