Ask a question

The Peak PCAN-Router FD enables connection to two CAN FD or CAN buses. In addition, the module supports flexible data routing between both channels. Thanks to the powerful ARM Cortex M4F microcontroller, its behavior is fully programmable. This allows the router to easily adapt to a wide range of network applications. Additionally, the module supports conversion from CAN to CAN FD and vice versa. This enables you, for example, to integrate CAN FD applications into existing CAN 2.0 networks. During complex migrations, existing communication is preserved. In short, the PCAN-Router FD offers flexibility for modern CAN networks.

Using the programming library and the GNU compiler for C and C++, you can easily develop your own firmware. The firmware is then transferred to the module via CAN. Upon delivery, the PCAN-Router FD already comes with standard firmware. In addition, the corresponding source code is included as an example. This allows developers to quickly get started with their own configurations and applications.

The module is housed in a robust aluminum profile enclosure. It is also available with two D-Sub connectors or a screw terminal strip. This makes it easy to choose the version that suits your installation.

Note: the PCAN-Router FD must be programmed to change the standard 1-to-1 pass-through configuration. Therefore, custom firmware is required for specific routing functions.

FAQ

  • Are CAN terminating resistors built into the PCAN-Router FD?

Yes, terminating resistors are built in, but they are disabled by default. The termination can be activated using a solder bridge, for each desired CAN-channel, which requires special tools.
As a convenient alternative, we can offer the Termination adapter CAN/ CAN FD as an accessory. It can be easily installed between the D-sub 9 connector and the cable without any tools, for each desired CAN channel.

  • Does this bridge support CANopen or J1939?

Yes, the PCAN-Router FD works with all CAN messages, including CANopen and J1939

However, the CAN messages are not interpreted as CANopen or J1939. In filter and mapping tables, or action rules, for example, the messages are treated as standard CAN messages. enquire about the configuration options.

  • Can I order on account?

Yes, that's definitely possible! Most customers place their orders through a Purchase Order.
First request a quote and then send the purchase order (PO) by email, simply from your own purchasing system. For first time buyers, we may ask additional questions in order to perform a credit check. Please contact us if you require our company details for registration in the purchasing system.

For security reasons, customers located in, or wishing to ship to, countries outside the Benelux must always pay in advance.

  • Why are all prices available upon request?

The online webshop is still under construction. As soon as it is available, all prices will naturally be visible.

However, everything is of course available, and we would be happy to inform you about prices and delivery times. Please contact us or give us a call. We have over 30 years of experience with CAN. We are happy to help you and offer you immediate practical advice or support.
