The Peak PCAN-Router DR is primarily a CAN-to-CAN bridge with two CAN channels. In addition, the baud rate is adjusted via a rotary switch on the front panel. This allows you to configure the module quickly and easily. Meanwhile, the device transmits CAN messages bidirectionally on a one-to-one basis between the two networks. Furthermore, the router supports reliable communication in industrial applications. For example, in machine control, test environments and vehicle systems.

The ports are also isolated from one another and from the power supply by at least 500 V. Furthermore, CAN 1 offers a separation voltage of up to 5 kV in accordance with IEC 60601-1. This makes the module suitable for both medical and industrial applications. Communication remains stable and secure during prolonged use. Furthermore, the DIN rail housing ensures easy integration into control cabinets. Thanks to the wide temperature range, the module also operates reliably under harsh conditions. In short, the PCAN-Router DR combines flexibility, safety and industrial reliability in a single compact solution.

Please note: The PCAN-Router DR must be programmed to change the standard 1-to-1 pass-through configuration.

PEAK-DevPack

With the help of the PEAK-DevPack development package, custom application-specific firmware for PEAK-System programmable hardware products can be developed. Examples are available for every supported product. The Firmware Development Package works with Visual Studio Code® and the GCC ARM Embedded toolchain, for Windows® 11 or 10.

FAQ

  • Are CAN terminating resistors built into the PCAN-Router DR?

    Yes, terminating resistors are built in, but they are disabled by default. They can be turned on or off using small switches — as desired and per CAN channel — by possiblyopening the housing.

  • Does this bridge support CANopen or J1939?

    Yes, the PCAN-Router DR works with all CAN messages, including CANopen and J1939

    However, the CAN messages are not interpreted as CANopen or J1939. In filter and mapping tables, or action rules, for example, the messages are treated as standard CAN messages. enquire about the configuration options.

  • Can I order on account?

    Yes, that's definitely possible! Most customers place their orders through a Purchase Order.
    First request a quote and then send the purchase order (PO) by email, simply from your own purchasing system. For first time buyers, we may ask additional questions in order to perform a credit check. Please contact us if you require our company details for registration in the purchasing system.

    For security reasons, customers located in, or wishing to ship to, countries outside the Benelux must always pay in advance.
