The Peak PCAN-Diag FD J1939 Add-in is expanding the diagnostic tool to include support for the SAE J1939 standard. This means that CAN data traffic is automatically interpreted in accordance with the supplied J1939 database. In addition, the software presents information in a clear and user-friendly manner. During diagnostic work, multi-packet messages are correctly decoded. The add-in also supports address claims and the processing of diagnostic data. Furthermore, this significantly speeds up analysis processes within vehicle networks. For example, the software assists with fault diagnosis, monitoring and communication analysis in heavy-duty vehicles.

SAE J1939 describes communication in commercial vehicles via CAN. The standard defines PGs (Parameter Groups) and SPs (Suspect Parameters). This ensures that the transfer of diagnostic and control information is structured and reliable. Furthermore, SAE J1939 supports complex vehicle systems within modern industrial and automotive applications. This creates a uniform communication method for a wide range of electronic control units.

Note: This is a software add-in module; however, a PCAN-Diag FD is required for use.
